On March 4th, 2017 one of my dearest and long time friends married her best friend. I was incredibly honored when Shannon asked me to be the photographer for her wedding. There was a part of me that almost wanted to turn the request down because I knew I wouldn't be able to sit back and actually listen to and watch her marry Micah...instead I was able to capture some pretty awesome moments between the two of them.
I started my day bright and early with Shannon and her sister, who was also her Maid of Honor, with the hair and makeup. The rest of the bridal party met Shannon at her place where they had a quick bite to eat and helped Shannon into her dress. While I was photographing the girls getting ready my second shooter Ashley was with the guys. A huge thank you to Ashley for grabbing great shots of the guys and for shooting with me the whole day!!
Shannon and Micah's ceremony took place a the Millennium Center and there to witness their marriage was their closest friends and family. I knew that although this was going to be the happiest days of Shannon's life, there was one person missing. Shannon lost her mom many years ago and I knew she would missing her a little bit more this day. From the moment Shannon asked me if I would photograph her wedding I had a thought about wanting to incorporate her mom into a photo from her wedding day. I originally wanted to incorporate a photo of her mom into an image of her and Micah; however when I was sorting through all of the photos from the day I stopped on this one photo of Shannon. I thought it was just perfect. I think Shannon was happy with the end product of that image as well it was a little reminder that her mom was with her on her wedding day.
Shannon really wanted to include Micah's like for super hero's into the wedding. For this they incorporated some kick ass cuff links and super hero t-shirts hidden under their suits! Following bridal portraits at the Millennium Center they just wanted to kick back and relax with the wedding party at Across the Board game cafe for a couple of drinks and a game or two. I thought this was an amazing idea and Across the board was so much fun...highly recommended!
We let the wedding party disperse following Across the Board and we took Shannon and Micah for a couple of photos around Winnipeg's exchange district as well as the Cinematheque!
Congratulations again Shannon and Micah, we had so much fun with you guys and your amazing wedding party! Thank you for letting me capture this day for you!
